The B-Daddy Channel

At The Liberator Today, I posted a song that I first heard on one of Pop's Pete Seeger albums. Why were there so many albums by aging lefties in our house growing up? Can't answer that one. Anyway, The Weavers with Pete Seeger, made some great music, and here is one of my favorite, haunting traditionals.

  1. Pop burned all of this, my wife now has adopted the term, "Twang Ferdy" Very nice tune.

Here is a cover by Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt.

Although the Weavers actually covered this from Jimmy Rogers who's original was much livelier than all the covers.

  2. Dawg,
Don't think Jimmy Rogers was the original. Marlene Dietrich did a version in the 30's. I think it is just a traditional folk song.
